Enervate (Ephesians 6:10-18)

Good morning ladies,

The word of the day is “enervate.” I can remember pretty vividly this passage of Scripture back when I was in high school. I think the reason I remember it so easily is because I could really picture of what it meant to put on the armor of God. The apostle Paul uses this analogy for exactly that reason. This analogy would have been very relatable to his audience. He did that to get his point across, that the evil one was very dangerous, and so he needed to explain stuff as simple as possible.

Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
~Eph 6:11-12

My question is: do you put on the armor of God daily? Imagine getting up in the morning and forgetting a very important piece of clothing that you need to function. What if you forgot to put on your shoes, or left the house without a jacket on a cold winter morning? It is almost ridiculous to think that somebody would forget something as easy as just simple items, but that is why Paul hits on that point. The evil one is out to enervate, or weaken, any Christian who lacks the full armor of God. My prayer this morning is that you take special care to clothe yourself with the stuff you need to follow God properly and completely.

Praying for you,

mo
