Good morning ladies,
The word of the day is “cahoots.” I think we are all familiar with this term. Whether
you heard it when you were a kid and involved with some plot or scheme to dupe
your parents, or a more saw it somewhere else in a more derogatory situation,
like on TV or in a company or whatever.
The basic principle is that you are working with somebody or another
group of people to get something done. The origin of this word is disputed, but
when we hear this term today I think that it is pretty self-explanatory. Jesus
dealt with this kind of stuff throughout his entire ministry. One of the more
turning points, or escalations, is seen in the following passage.
“The
Pharisees went out and immediately held counsel with the Herodians against him,
how to destroy him.”

3:6
In this particular instance Jesus pretty much makes every
governing body at that time pretty upset with him. Although all of the people
in power were in cahoots with one another, Jesus worked through this and came
out clean on the other side. However, he did have to go through some pretty
strenuous stuff following this, and even up to his death. My question is this:
with whom do you invest most of your time? We as Christians need to stick
together and help one another because there is a lot of stuff out there even
today that suggests that a life with Jesus is not worth all the hassle. I beg
to differ. My prayer for you this morning is that you give others a reason to
be in cahoots with you and fellow believers in Christ.
