Good morning ladies,
The word of the day is “extemporize.” One of the cool things
about the Bible is that you never know what you are going to get. In fact, the
people that are talked about in the Bible are in some pretty crazy situations.
It is almost like a soap opera much of the time if you think about it. One of
the guys that gets a pretty bad rap in the New Testament is Thomas. A lot of
peeps like to give him some grief, but he is the one who had enough guts to ask
the Savior what the heck was going on.
Now Thomas (also known as Didymus), one of the Twelve,
was not with the disciples when Jesus came. So the other disciples told
him, “We have seen the Lord!”
But he said to them, “Unless I see the nail marks in his
hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his
side, I will not believe.” A week later his disciples were in the
house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came
and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” Then he said
to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and
put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.” Thomas said to him, “My
Lord and my God!” Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you
have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
~Jn. 20:24-31
Talk about a shocker! No one had any idea what was going on
and all the sudden Jesus comes back and catches them off guard. So, not knowing
what to do the disciple Thomas extemporizes, or improvises within the
situation. My question is: what you do when you are caught of guard in your
relationship with the Savior? How you ever been in a situation where you had to
talk about God in you are not ready? My prayer is that you are always ready for
the situations that God puts you in. It is not by accident that you are given
the opportunities that you have.
Praying for you,
Mo
