Comport (Hebrews 10:19-39)

Good morning ladies,

The word of the day is “comport.”  The writer of today's passage understood that new Christians were going to have to face trials and tribulations, persecution and unrest, in both the community and within their faith.  He knew that giving them instructions on how to live would give them something to look towards as they made life decisions and strived to make correct decisions.

“For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins…”
~Heb 10:26

My question is: how are you going to allow the sacrifice of Jesus to work through you this year?  With all of the New Year's resolutions and other stuff that consumes our time, we must not forget where God fits into the equation.  Just like the Christians of this day were persecuted when they made decisions to make life changes, so must we remember to put to work the knowledge of truth that we have gained in knowing Jesus.  My prayer is that you meditate on the sacrifice of God's son that was given, comporting yourself for the trials that are ahead.

Praying for you,

Mo
