Williwaw (Matthew 8:23-27)

Good morning ladies,

The word of the day is “williwaw.”  It seems to me that things do not always go my way.  In fact, sometimes I have a downright horrible day.  One of my favorite stories in the Bible about this topic is when Jesus was out on a boat with his disciples.  They were dealing with a pretty bad storm up above, but he was soundly asleep down below.  Although the ship was about to break up, he seemed not to be too worried.  What the heck???

And when he got into the boat, his disciples followed him. And behold, there arose a great storm on the sea, so that the boat was being swamped by the waves; but he was asleep. And they went and woke him, saying, “Save us, Lord; we are perishing.” And he said to them, “Why are you afraid, O you of little faith?” Then he rose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. And the men marveled, saying, “What sort of man is this, that even winds and sea obey him?”
~Matt 8:23-27

My question is: what are the things in your life that consume your thoughts?  Most pastors would just tell you to suck it up and get past it.  However, I believe that God really cares about our problems.  My prayer is that you lean on him through situations that seem a little bit out of your control.  If the Lord can even go so far as to calm the wind and waves in the midst of a mighty williwaw, how much more do you think he can do in the midst of your cares and concerns?  JC wants to be a part of the conversation and life concerning the things that matter to you.

Praying for you,

Mo
