The word of the day is "pernicious." It is difficult to be a Christian in today's society. I don't think that life has gotten tougher necessarily - each period in history has its unique troubles - but with all the social media stuff and how small the wold is becoming, we must be diligent God-followers. There is enough evil in the day to drive a person crazy. I think that a key Bible verse is the following:
Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange is happening to you.
~1 Pet 4:12
My question is: what are some of the spiritual tests in your life at the moment. If you are not sure, then I would suggest speaking with some of your closest Xtian friends and ask them to help you identify some growing edges in your life. I know that God wants us to withstand the fiery trials. We must always be ready for the pernicious attacks of the enemy.
